The
Reverend Dr. Jan Rivero is completing her 10th year as the
United Methodist Campus Minister at UNC Chapel Hill. A graduate of
The College of William and Mary (1975) and
Wesley Theological Seminary (M.Div. 1980; D.Min. 2005), Janʼs
dissertation explored the possibilities for partnership between local
church and free standing campus ministries. She has nearly 30 years
of pastoral experience, 18 of those in campus ministry. Jan characterizes
her ministry as one of hospitality and healing. She takes seriously her
responsibility to make all students feel welcome, and to help bring others
to a healthy and whole relationship with God. The priorities of her
ministry on campus are student faith formation and leadership
development. She has served as President of NCMA for almost two years
